What Does The Corn Snake Look Like?

At first I thought it was a copperhead because it was mead and kept striking at us but them when I went on the internet it was exactly like the pictures of the red corn snake - very read with irregular blackish-brownish stripes. It cam into my porch even though my 3 dogs live there. They were all 3 up on chairs and it was sleeping in the corner. We took two brooms an lifted it into a tupperware box and released it down on an island where we know there is a rat population and some black snakes.
