I have just bought a corn snake off a couple and he his two years old, after just one day he bit me while I was getting him out of his vivarium, is this common when they change environments. He was fed 24 hours before I picked him up and wa very lively, I have handled him since and he seems fine but very nervous, should I leave him for a few days to settle in his new surroundings.

They usually hide or sleep for most of the day mabe 8 to 12 hours ...

And to the other guy . When the snake has been transported to a new home it should be left for around a week to get used to its new surroundings before handling.. And left for 48 hours after feeding before handled.

They are nocturnal meaning they rest during the day and hunt at night in the wild. You can handle them at any time except after feeding. Here is a care sheet for you www.cornsnakes.net
