You should not let the cut or any wound open and untreated in your dog because infection can develop and things will become bad for you and your dog. If the cut in your dog is deep then it may require stitches that can be done by the vet.

If the cut is minor then wash the wound with warm water and Epsom salt and then apply topical antibiotics and then use proper bandage. This bandage is necessary because dogs can lick their wound. You can purchase this topical antibiotics from pharmacy. But it will be more better if your dog get proper treatment from your local vet.

My dog got a cut on his lower front leg only about a inch long 2 days ago. As soon as it happened he had a lot of bleeding and we began oiments cleaning and wrapping the leg up. Now today his leg is double the size with fluid which we see if you aplly any pressure will began to drain. So we did not wrap it today thinking it needed to drain but he keeps licking the spot making the wood open and also licking the fluid. It does not appear to be infectected but do know how quick this can happen. He is eating and drinking like a horse but everytime he walks around and puts pressure the fluid builds up. What can I do until the vets open in the morning I'm afraid to wait much longer>
