It's probably a Lady Bird, Lady Bug or Asian Lady Beetle, latin:Coleoptera, these come in a wide variety all across the US. Contact your closest University or College web site to confirm this. These insects are usually beneficial when outdoors, but can become a nuisance inside. Quickest way to get rid of them is to vacuum or sweep them up and discard outside. Hope this helps.
