Serious answer: The average mosquito masses 1-2 mg. Even the state birds of Minnesota.

Amazing, considering the nuisance they cause.

Only the girls bite, they need protein to make their eggs. The boys are off sucking on nectar (little wimps, but they do keep some plant species alive). It's been estimated (not very scientifically) that mozzies can gain almost 0.5mg of weight (your blood) in a single feed, which makes them too heavy to fly properly. That's why they're often easy to kill post-feed.

Same source reckons that it would take a million mozzies or so to kill (by drinking all the blood) out of an adult female person.
