Well what I did to treat my dogs open wound is I spread Bag Balm, its normally used to heal wounds on cows udders but it worked great on my canine. I would just spread on the wound 1-2 times and day until healed. I would suppose it would depend on how large the open wound is and if it is infected. Hope this can help.
