Yes they can. As far as I know peanuts are not toxic to dogs nor do they cause any side effects. They'd probably get sick or constipated if they got a hold of a whole bag!!! A few peanuts are fine. Have you ever given your dog a spoonful of peanut butter? If not, I won't tell you what happens but it's pretty funny to watch. Our dog loved it and we always had a good laugh.

This is so hilarious, I have seen the results of this, giving a dog peanut butter, and it is so funny. I 1 time was at a friends house and we made 4 Peanut Butter sandwiches, set the plate down for a second next to the bed, and his dog got all 4 of them down by the time we realized it. The dog was just the funniest thing I had ever seen. We thought it was going to die, which wasn't funny, but watching my friend hold the small dog up to the faucet trying to make him drink almost made me pee!!

My dog, Labby Lou, put on his St Louis Cardinals jersey and sits on the deck with me and loves Cardinal Peanuts! Have not tried giving him any Cubs peanuts yet though. Can't take that chance of him getting sick.

My dog has seizures after eating peanuts. So no more  peanuts for him. He obviously is allergic like some humans.Had to race him to the vet and be put on a drip over night.
I thought he was going to die. He is fine now and happy.

Peanuts are even said to be dogs favorite flavor. I suggest you give them some in stuff instead of giving them to them plain but you can. Hope this helps.

To give your dog something to do when you go away and to prevent bad behavior such as chewing up shoes and furniture get a toy called KONG. They are made of very tuff rubber, shaped like a pineapple, with a hole in each end. Sizing is important so get the size appropriate for your size dog. I think they come in 3 sizes. Now when you want your dog to have some fun and to take away separation anxiety fill the KONG with peanut butter and give it to your dog. They even have KONG dispensers that send up to 4 KONGS automatically onto the floor throughout the day. The dispenser has a alarm that sounds before one is released. KONG CLASSIC is what the toys are called.
