Skunk spray is thick, oily, stinky and yellow color. Skunks use this spray to defend themselves from enemies. Skunks store their spray in the anal glands after its synthesis as a degradation product of urine and release at the time of danger or threat by other animals. This spray can cause very bad smell from the affected pet. Skunk spray also causes skunk anemia in dogs. If your dog has been sprayed since last 3-5 days and showing some symptoms of illness like discolored urine, lethargy and weakness, then its time to visit a vet.
There are many products available to treat the bad smell due to skunk spray. You can use Skunk Off for this purpose. To treat anemia and eye ulceration, take your dog to vet.

Most often, the dog would be fine after being sprayed.   Other than being stinky.   But there are those occasions when the dog is sprayed in the face or mouth when he or she can suffer liver damage, anemia, or even death.   Any dog that exhibits signs of illness after being sprayed should be treated by the vet.
