The old saying that you can't teach an old dig new tricks is rubbish.....Dogs can be trained at any age if done correctly

I had to potty train my 2 yr old chihauhau. Well, I'm not 100% it will work for you, but, it did for me. I got a

chihuahua that was not potty trained at all. She wouldn't let me know

when she had to go out either, pooping and peeing all over my rugs.

Well, everytime, I took her out to pee or poop. I would keep telling

her to go pee pee go poopy..over and over..everytime we went out...every 2 hours..and I

would tell her "Good Girl". Then I decided to move on with the inside

part. I bought puppy pads and laid them down all over the

place..lol..especially the places she went most to pee or poop. I would

put her on them and tell her pee pee and poopy and good girl..it didn't

happen overnight..but, within about 2 weeks, she was trained. I hope

this helps. Never say bad dog. Just clean the mess like it never

happened and don't say anything about it. If you catch your dog in the

middle of peeing, pick him/her up and put him/her right on the pad.

No. It is never to late to train a dog of any age. Just start with the basics. Sit.Stay.Lie down. And come. Buy a puppy training guide. That should help.
