I Have A Malte-poo Puppy, She Is 10 Weeks Old. I Am Having A Hard Time Getting Her Potty Trained. I Use The Pee Pads, But Its Hit And Miss. She Will Pee On Them, But I Can't Get Her To Poop On Them. I Was Told To Try A Litter Box, Do You Have Any Advise?

Kennel train it. Get a kennel big enough to stand up , turn around and lay down. Get one it can grow into and put up a divider. Dogs wont potty where they sleep. Then watch her/him all day while its out. Take it to potty every hour for a week. The next week every Hour and a Half, the Next week every two hours. As long as your making progress. That is how I trained my two Pit bulls.

Crate or kennel training is the best way to housetrain your puppy. Keep her closed up in her kennel while you are gone during the day or sleeping at night so she cannot soil the floors when you can't watch her. As soon as you get up in the morning and when you come home, leash her and take her outside to go potty on the grass. Do this again right before you go to bed and about five to ten minutes after she eats her meals. Keeping potty pads in the house for her to soil on will just confuse her and make her think she can go potty anywhere she wants. Give her much praise when she goes potty outside and she will soon associate this as a good behavior. Be patient because it takes time, just like toilet training human children.

I have a maltepoo also. All I do is just bring him outside a lot since they have to "go" way more than we do.  I've had him for about a month (hes 15 weeks old) and hes been pretty good at it. There have been an accident of course a couple of times but its normal. It happens. Even after he "accidentally" pees inside, I still take him outside and just keep telling to pee//poo.
