Here is a link to a great website for you from a breeder. Its very comprehensive and will tell you what you should do and what to look out for.  www.chelsea-collies.com

Right after whelping your mama may get very protective. She may or may not let Anyone near the pups. She will need to be fed and watered with free choice. Hang a water bottle for her rather than risk pups crawling into a bowl. She will lick and lick til you think she will lick a hole in the babies. This is natural. Make sure you keep the bedding clean. Change it daily or more often if soiled. Let her out to relieve herself when she wants. She will turn her normal routine upside down. She's the boss now. After several days her routine will get back to some degree of normal. She will keep them clean, so you don't have to. Vet visit should be one soon, based on your vets recommendation. When the pups start to get teeth you can introduce them to food. I use junior baby food to start. Depending on the breed and size of the pups this may be about 5-6 weeks. Good luck and bone puppiteet Dogma
