Hoof means the horny covering or sheath seen on the ends of the feet of any ungulate mammal. These mammals belong to the order of Artiodactyla or Perissodactyla including deer, horses and oxen. It may refer in general to the foot of such an animal. In slang the human foot may also be referred to as a hoof.
