Hello there!! The Parvo Virus is NOT a Zoonotic Disease and therefor can not be transmitted from Animal to Human. However, the Parvo Virus can be transmitted from Puppy to Puppy/Dog to Dog quite easily so if there are any dogs in the house that are not vaccinated for the Parvo Virus, I suggest you watch them to ensure they do not start to show signs of the Virus. Older dogs are less likely to get the virus, but it is not unheard of. If there are any other pups/dogs in the house and they do start to show signs of the virus, I would consider that a medical emergency and they should be seen by a licensed Veterinarian. I hope that I have helped to clear things up for you and put you at ease!! Have a Happy, Healthy, and Blessed 2009!! If there are any other questions you need answered, please don't hesitate to contact me!!

How can you tell if they have the parvovirus? We had a dog that died the first of the year, he had all his shots but he was having trouble going to the restroom so we took him to the vet and they could not tell what was wrong with him, he was 7 years old, on year years eve, he got real sick and we took him in again and they gave us medicine, but I guess it was too late, he died between 3 and 5 in the morning.

That is the most IGNORANT response I have ever read. Parvo is NOT ZOONOTIC (look it up). And Parvo IS Treatable. So for you to say to "push it away from your house and put a bullet in it's head" makes me want to vomit. How dare you suggest any animal should be shot in the head! That is why there are licenced Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians (LIKE ME), Certified Animal Control Officers (LIKE ME), to treat helpless animals. I just thank God that people like you do NOT work with any animals. Maybe someone should shoot you in the head since you were do sick. Try going to a Human Doctor and have your stomach issues taken care of. It could be that you were just being punished for Not getting those innocent kittens the Veterinary Care they obviously needed. Karma shows itself every day. I'm sure that you will respond with yet another IGNORANT answer, but think what you want. My schooling and experience and FACTS tell me all that I need to know about you and your FALSE answer. Enjoy your day!
