The Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake is the largest venomous snake in North America. Some reach 8 feet (2.4 meters) in length and weigh up to 10 pounds (4.5 kilograms).

This could be one of two kinds a diamond rattler or a prairie rattler in either case, if you found a baby one more than likely there is going to be a nest near by and you need to be careful you might want some one to come out and take a look around just to be on the safe side.
