Most probably, all dogs including yellow lab get their first heat cycle at the average age of 6-8 months. Heat cycle in dogs is repeated after every 6-7 months, so, there can be two heat cycles in a year in dogs but some breeds of dogs can have one heat cycle per year. It is good to get spayed all domestic dogs because it will give protection from many diseases.
