How Many Kittens Does A Cat Have On Their First Litter?

My young cat has just fin shed giving birth to her first and most definitely last litter of kittens, she only had 3....the birth is a lot less scary and a lot less messy than I thought it would be! They are now feeding off her. She knew what to do on instinct without any intervention from us....hope this helps.

They should have about 4 - 5 kittens

The very first litter is usually small and only 3 or 4 kittens may be born. You never know for sure though. The only way to be certain a mother cat has delivered ALL her kittens is to have an x-ray done by a veterinarian.
