It was a Samoyed. They used two Samoyed puppies for the filming of the movie.
Actually it was both. An American Eskimo and a Samoyed. They both look the same as puppies, but differ greatly in size when they are older. If you read the movie review it mention this: "Several American Eskimo/Samoyed puppies were alternated in this role and were rested between takes."
We guessed Samoyed and have 2 of our own.
An american eskimo dog :D I know it was the cutest thing!

I just looked it up (and provided the link). It was a Samoyed, not an Eskimo. Here's the breed parent club if you'd like more info. Is it a good movie?

That was an American Eskimo.
It was an American Eskimo puppy-probably 3 months old or a little younger.

Samoyed

I think it was a bichon frise.
It looked just like my American Eskimo as a puppy, so that's my guess...so cute!
The dog was an American Eskimo--STANDARD size--(they come in 3 sizes). It was about 3-4 months old.

It is an American Eskimo puppy because I have the same breed of dog and it looked just like her when she was a puppy!!!!
Did you watch the movie? I did... It only says the American humane society sponsored the movie and no animals were harmed. Nothing about the breed.
It was an american eskimo. People magazine confirms that in an article. I had one when I was a kid, his name was Juneau actually, after the capitol of Alaska :-) which is where the film takes place.
American Eskimo (AKC) or "Eskie"

As the owner of 2 American Eskimo dogs and very knowledgeable about the breed, I can tell you, without a doubt that the dog in the movie is an American Eskimo (Spitz). They come in 3 sizes, this one was a STANDARD. He/she was about 3-4 months old.
