Why Is On My Dog Losing Hair One Of It's Ears?

I have this problem with by dog. Have gone to the vet and spent over a thousand dollars with no answers. She had biopsies and test. We have her on a really expensive food. So far nothing. She has lost 1/2 of the hair on just one ear. No where else.

My dog is having the same issue. She's losing hair on both of her ears at a quick pace and the skin is dry and flaky. For awhile we were on a cream that I was putting on the spot which just stopped the hair loss, the vet told me to stop and after we stopped the hair loss continued. Any suggestions?
