Chiggers are mites and parasites on many animals including humans and dogs. Most commonly these mites are also called harvest mites. Most affected areas in dogs are head, abdomen and legs. Chiggers usually don't cause any symptom. Sometimes, dogs can scratch. These mites can be seen with naked eyes and can be separated from affected dogs for microscopic examination. Affected area of the animal can be reddish color. Topical insecticides can be used to treat chiggers in dogs.
