They break open the shell of other crustaceans with their claws, After cracking their preys shell, they suck or bite the tender meat inside of the wounded prey. The lobster is a rare bread of anthropoid for there are many different types of lobster with many characteristics. Some bite and some suck. It all depends on what type of lobster you are talking about.

They use their claws to crack the shells of shellfish and such then usually suck the juices out. They use the juices nutrients to live.
