A python snake can generally live up to 35 years of age. They belong to the family of Pythonidae. A python is generally distinguishable with the help of their teeth that are situated on the premaxilla, bone at the front portion and also the centre of the upper jaw. They generally grow up to 1 to 6 meters in length. A Python also stands smart in the Guinness book of world records as the longest snake, at 10 m (32 ft 9.5 in).

Pythons are found mostly in Australia, Southeast Asia and Africa. They are also seen mostly in the dense underbrush of the rocky humid rainforest regions. Unlike other snakes they are very capable swimmers.
