Borax isn't used as a (spray).
It is simply sprinkled around in places such as behind the refrigerator, stove, etc..
The bugs eat it. The Borax dehydrates the bigs and they die. Some also track it back to their nests.
It is similar to Boric Acid which does the same thing.
