Maybe sign up for a class in your area if it's an option! If not then I'd start doing some research haha. A lot of factors go in to training; the dogs personality, your personality, how the two interact, what skills you want the dog to learn, ect.

Congratulations on getting your dog! I love those small dogs because they look so cute. To your question: I believe training any dog is a matter of patience. Start using basic commands on the dog, tell them basic things like "sit", or "stay" or "stand" or "stop". They will start to get it. As well, online resources can be very helpful in how exactly to illustrate commands to your dog.

Something else that actually helped me a lot was adopting the use of dog training collars. Initially, after my dog learnt the meaning of basic commands like "Stay" or "Stop", I started used a shock collar. I actually got to use the shock once. The rest of the time i used the beep or vibration training modes. They are quite friendly methods of correction. If you are considering them, I found this guide for shock collars suitable to small dogs to be quite useful.

All the best as you continue to train your dog! Cheers!
