Sea turtles are egg laying animals. They don't get pregnant. After getting sexual maturity, mating takes place. Mating occurs in water. Female makes nest in sands and lay eggs there. A clutch can be of 80-120 eggs depending upon species. Incubation period of sea turtles is of 60 days.
A sea turtles gestation period is between 6 and 10 weeks. They will lay between 70 and 200 eggs depending on the type of sea turtle in question .... They lay the eggs on th shore, not in the water and swim off to live their lives.
