There are many reasons for hunting whales and I personally do not agree with them. Each whale nowadays is worth about £10,000 and did you know the whale is used to make corsets, tennis rackets, lipstick and many other things. Here is an answer that I did for school:

Whales are not only killed for food a skin but also to make corsets and tennis rackets!
In 1946 a whaling group was et up to limit the number of whales hunted each year they were called the IWC.
In the late 1930’s whaling became extremely popular and over 50,000 whales were killed.
Whaling began in prehistoric times when the animal was a means of staying live, using the food and skin and probably as much of the body as they could!
Whales only used to be hunted when it was a means of staying alive but know the kill them for many other things making each whale worth about £10,000.
