Why is it that just after I have repainted the white cladding at the front of my house, every insect in the area considers it necessary to commit hara-kiri on it?

It looks like a giant white runway for them to land on and skid across.This scientific theory is also governed by Janey's Law -  the more wood stain preservative you paint on a fence, the more a boisterous 2-year old Golden Retriever will sniff it and jump on it and then look like a furry gold and autumn cedar colour lol.
