My dog was born with only one kidney how does this happen? The vet says when she hits 9 months we will switch her to a kidney sensitive diet but will she be ok?

Yes, she'll be okay.  Trust your vet, this sometimes happens, actually some human babies have been born with only one kidney, and have gone on to live fulfilling lives.

At times life hands us situations that puzzle us, but many things in life are born with abnormalities and you already took the first step in insuring the health of your puppy by taking it to the vet and as long as you follow the proper care for your puppy, then it should be ok.
