There are a number of fish that live in the Taiga Biome such as the Lamprey. Lampreys are a family of jawless fish, whose adults are characterized by a toothed, funnel-like sucking mouth. Translated from a mixture of Latin and Greek, lamprey means stone lickers from the word lambere: To lick, and petra: Stone. While lampreys are well known for those species which burrow into the flesh of other fish to suck their blood, most species of lamprey are non-parasitic and never feed on other fish. In zoology, lampreys are sometimes not considered to be true fish because of their distinctive morphology and physiology.

Another type of fish that can live in the Taiga Biome is the Arctic cisco which is an anadromous species of freshwater whitefish that inhabits the Arctic parts of Siberia, Alaska and Canada. It also has a close freshwater relative in several lakes of Ireland, known as the pollan, alternatively regarded as conspecific with it, or as a distinct species. The freshwater omul of Lake Baikal, formerly considered a subspecies Coregonus autumnalis migratorius of the Arctic cisco, has no close genetic relationship to it, and is now classified as a separate species Coregonus migratorius.

The Lake trout is also found in the Taiga Biome. The lake trout is a freshwater char living mainly in lakes in North America towards the north. They are the largest species of charrs, the record weighing almost 46.3 kg. From a zoogeographical perspective, lake trout are quite rare. They are native only to the northern parts of North America, principally Canada but also Alaska and, to some extent, the northeastern United States. Lake trout have been introduced into many other parts of the world, mainly into Europe but also into South America and certain parts of Asia. In Canada, approximately 25% of the world's lake trout lakes are found in the province of Ontario. Even at that, only 1% of Ontario's lakes contain lake trout.

These are just a few of the fish that live in the Taiga Biome however there are several other types of fish including a number of different types of trout.
