Watersheds are defined as an area of clean water from which an area of civilization retains an abundance of water for use in everyday life. A water shed is a geographical area that has drainage that is contained so that it can be protected against outside pollutants. The significance relating to wildlife is that usually the area is protected from development of the forests, which leaves large tracts of land untouched.  Watershed are not developed for wildlife but do offer refuge from developed areas.
