This doesn't sound normal to me, and he may have a problem that needs to be looked at by a veterinarian.  Hamsters are kind of delicate when it comes to medical problems, so the sooner you have him looked at by a doctor, the better it will probably be for him, as there may be only a simple treatment for what is happening.
Here's a good website from Google (there are more, if you type in "Hamster Care")

Hope that helps you out a bit!

My hamster was just found bleeding today, In his "Waste" corner and his nesting was blood ed in places. I don't understand he appears to be healthy. He is eating and was on his wheel but now he is just sleeping when he is normally up and running, I am very worried as for he is not friendly with me either, I had just bought him form the pet store. He is an adorable pure brown long hair teddy bear hamster in a well ventilated wire cage.

No this is not normal... When I was younger I had a hamster and he started to lose his hair and bleed and about after a month or two he just died I had him for 3 in a half years and I loved him so much... My mom could not afford to take him to a vet but later I did check into it and it is a sign of old age and that he is going to pass away- NOT HAMSTER PUBERTY
