She can have up to 8, but 3-4 is more common. You should seperate the male and female now. 3 weeks after she gives birth all of the pups need to be put in seperate cages because the males will fight and are sexually mature at three weeks and could result in another pregnancy if left with the mother or with the female sibblings. www.guinealynx.info

3-10 but the average is normally 2 or 3 and yes you will need to separate the male if you don't want your lil piggies to be eaten by the dad because the fathers normally don't care about the babies because all he thinks about is mating with the female and the father may think that the baby want to take away the mom from him so its most likely that the dad will kill the babies.

The male will help her deliver, BUT the female will come back into heat within 6 hours and will be pregnant right away. Even if you don't mind that, it is very hard on them physically. And they can have 1 - 8 babies. 2 - 4 is normal.

Well actually all these people that are giving you the information are kinda wrong. When your guinea pig is giving birth you might need to keep the male with her because she might need help from him to deliver. Now you do not have to separate them when their born. Wait three weeks and then if you want to remove them then go ahead. But if you don't then there will be no problem b/w the males as long as if it wasn't her first time. And if you already had males and males together then they will not fight at all. The males are mature a couple of weeks after they are born. About 6. And if you let them all stay in the same cage together make sure they don't bump the cradle again. Because this time the babies might become deformed after birth.

On , they have about 1-6 pups, and the average is 3. I could find no information on the male being dangerous to the litter, and recommend that you keep an eye on him until you are sure that he will not kill the babies. Hope this helps, good luck.

That sounds about right. We always used to keep the male with her for 6 weeks, and we took the babies away after 6 weeks because they are still milking. They can be moved at three weeks, but the female is still protective of them at that point.

You will have to separate them at 4 weeks because if you don't they will mate each other and the mother will kill them

You have to separate the father from the babies and the mom other wise the father will definatly eat the babies then the mom and dad will fight until death!
