Yes guinea pigs can eat bananas.  When adding a new food to the diet do so one at a time so if diarrhea results you will know the cause.  Fruits and vegetables should just be used as a supplement to the diet.  Fruits in particular should be kept to a minimum.  The main component of a guinea pig's diet should be pelleted guinea pig food and timothy hay.  You will also need to supplement vitamin C-best done through oral tablets, vegetables, or less effective through water supplementation.

Of course because banana has heaps of vitamin c and guinea pigs need heaps of that, although I have never fed my guinea pigs any yet but I will.

My pigs are afraid of bananas! I tried putting some in their cage - as a little treat for them I thought, but they ran squealing into their bed compartment and wouldn't come out until I removed it! I tried again a couple of weeks later and they were just the same! I think it might be because ripe bananas give off a very strong smell and pigs have very sensitive noses. Or maybe they're just weird?
