What kind of shaking?? If it's serious or violent, he could have a serious problem, like a seizure disorder.  But if it's just a little, he could have low blood sugar.  My dog's head was shaking back and forth a couple weeks ago in the morning and I immediately googled it, and the advice said to give him something to eat, which worked immediately.  If it happens a lot you need to take him to the vet.

Shaking or twitching can be caused by toxins, as well as snail bait which I just found out at the vet an hour ago. Thought it was important to add these findings as I mostly only found "your dog is cold, in pain, or scared" comments. Maybe this post can help save a dogs life. Watch your dog closely on walks. If your dog is a grass eater, only allow him to "graze" on your property. You never know what pesticides or toxins other use on their lawns. If a dog ingests a penny, this creates toxins in his system as well.

Check to make sure he/she does not have a fever.
Your dog's temp should be around 99 to 102.5
check the inner thighs to see if it is warm.
If it is warmwet  the ineer thighs and head and keep the air on around 65 degrees, and make sure he/she drinks lots of water.
If you have any kids check to see how your dog react around them.

Some dogs shake when they are scared of something. My dog shakes when a fire alarm goes off.  The answer above me though, is right too

or Lots of these breed just do this because they are board get at less three different kinds of kong toys and a hard ball, nylon bone this well keep them busy you should be able to buy at any pet store.
Also changing their diet to Natural Balance formula potato & duck if you can't find it in your pet store ask them to order it or go on-line to buy it.
Some time it only being board or it could be their diet I recommend you try both
or Try changing your dogs diet this help a lot try Natural Balance formula potato & duck for small breeds if your pet store does not carry this you can order on-line.

When you take a dog to the vet he or she can get an overall picture of the dog and look at its eyes, check its heart, ensure its breath is ok (sometimes dogs can have very sweet, sickly smelling breath if they are ill) and in this way the vet can actually diagnose whether the shaking and shivering is just peculiar to that dog or is a cause for concern. Without that kind of real life, detailed assessment, it is wrong to assume that it is a symptom of a serious illness or that it is absolutely not a cause for concern, so have the dog checked out !

Dogs often shake and shiver if they have got wet or even if they are cold. However, if your dog is doing this all the time, then it needs to be seen by a qualified veterinarian. All dogs are different, but breeds of dogs are also very different and so what may be very normal in one dog may indicate a medical condition in another.

MAYBE HE IS FRIGHTENED..! Also the reason could be that he or she would be cold or too warm...also there is a possible chance of being sick.

Maybe he is frightened or if you have other animals in the house he could be afraid of them....or maybe he is cold,to warm, or sick

That could be one of two things, he is cold, or he is hurting. I would think that it's the second one, they can't tell you when they are hurting. I think you should take him to the vet. Hope this helps, good luck to you and the pup.
