When we moved to a new house my cats also fight like hell. Cats always love the place where they live more than the owner. So once they leave their place they feel uncomfortable and unprotected. They need some time to adjust and get familiar with a new place. All they need is a little time.
I have two cats siblings male and female just a year old started fighting suddenly before the fights used to be playfully.when they fight should I separate them or they should continue till they finish of their differences.
Cat fight is not a new war in the housemate. These cats in the same house fight due to following reasons.
- Fight for house sharing
- Fight for pray or food
- Territorial fight: Every cat feel her house as territory and fight with other.
- Social ranking fight: Specially males for dominance.
- Aggression: This aggression can be due to any external reason but he/she attack on the housemate. E.g. If your cat see outside the house/window/door and find another cat or dog and can not reach there to fight and instead attack on housemate.
They have bee living together fine for over two years, now this is day 3 they have been growling and hissing when they see one another...its like a mexican standoff to see which will hide and growl from under the dining room table and the other sits and waits to see if she will come out. Both are neutered/fixed.
This goes on all night, to where they wake me up all hours of the night...I put one in the cage, the male, so the female can go to litter box and eat without there being in a fight.
What to do, they normally clean one another and have always been loving with each other.

It's mostly a territorial thing once they get over it they should go back to normal.
