The severity of the sting depends upon the type of scorpion involved.  Most scorpion stings are similar to bee stings or other insect bites.  Many dogs just develop a localized reaction and can experience pain.  Some can have facial swelling, vomiting, and lethargy.  Others can go into anaphylactic shock from these stings.
Any sting should be treated as an emergency and I would take your dog to be seen by a veterinarian immediately.
You can initiate treatment at home with Benadryl.  The dose is 1 milligram per pound of body weight give by mouth.  Do not use Benadryl Cold and Sinus varieties--it needs to be plain Benadryl.

Recently lost a lactating bitch who evidenced severe pain and panic,  she was then isolated from her pups, went into convulsions and shortly expired within an hour or so of the onset of her distress.  Toxic scorpions and snakes do exist in this area, but scorpions are the great majority.
     Any ideas?
