Crocodiles are considered to be prehistoric animals, from the days of the dinosaurs. Though water may freeze, because they are somewhat like reptiles, they become dormant. They do not eat fresh meat but rather, burry their prey in mud. After they have been dead for awhile, the will eat. They have learned to survive and to store food when needed.
