Exercise, exercise, exercise... And more exercise!

You've chosen a highly active working breed, and puppies are in and of themselves high energy. The only solution is to tire him out. He needs to run, so if you don't run, try finding a good size dog park or a younger dog friend to romp with. Some people have great success with treadmills or having the dog run beside on a bike ride... Try to find a way to incorporate him into whatever it is you do for exercise (pointers love to swim), that way you can both benefit.

For times in the house, try out some of the treat dispensing toys (kong...etc.), and have a series of soft balls for the endless games of catch you're going to be playing ; ).
