Number of placentas in dogs depends upon litter size. One puppy lies in one placenta, so, number of placentas in a dogs is directly related with number of puppies. For example, if there are 5 puppies in a litter then there will be five placentas. Mother dogs usually eat their placentas and create confusion among the owners. You should not allow your dog to eat more than 2 placentas because it can cause vomiting and diarrhea.
However many puppies your dog gives birth to, will tell you how many placentas your dog should give birth to.
As many has their are puppies
My dog just had 3 puppies. I think there are a couple more but she has only delivered 1 placenta. Should I worry or just wait until she is finished delivering?
