Saprophytic is basically an organism that depends on dead plants and animals for nutrition. It can be a fungas or a bacteriam. Thus they cannot be exactly termed as animals. E.g Molds, Flowering plants such as Indian Pipe and Orchid. They do not produce chlorophyll usually and do not indulge in the process of Photosynthesis.
