The gestation period of a sea lion is quite long, i.e. 12 months. The average lifespan of sea lions is believed to vary from 15 to 25 years. For Steller sea lion, it is thought to be around 20 to 23 years, and for Californian sea lion, the average age is around 15 to 17 years.
