Mini lops are not smaller than Holland lops!I have a Mini and a Holland, Mini's are way bigger ,Hollands are just a smaller version of a Mini lop.I know it would sound more like a 'Mini' would be the smaller breed ,but it is not,it is a medium sized rabbit, where a Holland is classified as a small breed. Look it up on google, it will explain the differences and their size differences.Just thought I'd correct the other response you got.
I think mini lop is smallest. There is a tiny rabbit called a Netherland Dwarf, but it is not a lop eared rabbit. Be aware that the short faced rabbits - like lops - tend to need more care of their teeth and therefore will probably cost you more in vet bills.
Hehe. Almost all of these comments are wrong. Research it on the breed standards! A mini lop is 5-7 lbs and a Holland lop is less than 4 lbs. Both of them are equally adorable. Mini lops have longer ears, that will go past their chin, while Holland lop's ears stop at the chin.
A mini is smaller. They are of course both rabbits but different (man made) breeds. Bred through artificial selection . Lop rabbits are bred from the mutation that causes their pinna( outer ear) to flop down (lop). This is totally unnatural and restricts their hearing. A lop in the wild would not survive as it could not hear nor locate its predators. The pinna should stick up and rotate a little, that is it,s purpose, catching soundwaves . Some breeders have bred these poor lops for the longest ear lengths with their ears trailing down onto the ground. It is so wrong to breed for "fashion" and compete like this as the animal suffers .
They are two different breeds. The Holland lop has bigger ears and the mini lop has smaller.
A holland lop is way cuter and a bit smaller, I love them and am getting one, so so cute. HOLLAND'S BEAT MINI'S ANY DAY!
No they aren't the same but if they are diff. Genders then they can still mate
