Well I have a little garden skink as my pet! They make great first pets and they don't require a lot of care. I give him a small bottle top and fill it with water and he just drinks out of that. He also eats Ants, Lettuce leaves, or any other insects! My little guy isn't fully grown but will ear just about anything and is very calm and they also loved to be played with but be careful not to squeeze them too hard or else they will die:( I called my little guy/girl :Stormy: Good luck with your little one!!!!
I recently got a little garden skink and I have been doing my research My Little skink quite enjoys eating pinhead crickets and earwigs, but little spiders, ants, grubs, caterpillars, baby slugs and any other harmless insects are fine. Lettuce in small peices can be used as a treat for your skink. As for the crickets- pinheads are the baby ones, so you can grow them until you are ready to feed them to your lizard. Give them a slice of carrot and it will last for a week. Don't leave the crickets too long- if they are too big your lizard may choke- and keep them in a room temperature environment (eg. Pantry, cupboard... Not in the fridge!)
Nobody else has listed this but they do eat it. You put oats in some water until they are soggy and then skinks love it. Can I just say some skinks are different than others even if they are the same species. They all like different things but I think crickets and lettuce are a big hit!
Well I have a pet skink and I found out that they like ants / Caterpillars /earwigs/ fruits and other stuff but they love to sleep in a little box filled with riped newspaper but not silky paper .thanks I hope it helps your skink
Well I have about 8 that breed and have babys what I give them are Slaters pinhead crickets letuce leafs small slugs carrot and any cooked meat!!!! And some human foods but I don't know what they are
I believe Skinks eat a variable amount of food, but not to much of it. I was looking what to give my little skink, Slinky, I found a wide range of foods. I have decided to try them all. What Slinky enjoyed the most; the ants, crickets, earwigs, sliced carrot and lettuce leaf. I have also put a small bowl, cut of the bottom of a drink bottle in his cage for water. Slinky, for now, is in an encolsure with my two Marble Gekos, Mondy and Moscow. Slinky seems to enjoy the gravel and crawling through a pine cone. I have a few large rocks and three fake plants. Also, there is a background so the three little lizard feels safe. I love my lizards, hope this little Skink description helps!!!

Hi, I'm am thirteen and I have twelve garden skinks at the moment. Their are six little ones and six big ones the big ones have been breeding like crazy lately but haven't laid the eggs so I am waiting. I keep mine in a hermit crab tank and a three dollar 9 liter container which has holes in the lid and is effective. My skinks love to eat spiders I havent had much luck with any thing else, although mine also don't mind oats that are soggy. I feed can eat the spiders from plyers. For lights I use a forty watt mirabella and a twenty five watt mirabella for the big lizards.
I just found a skink today it about 5 cm and it lost it tail but it still looks good I found a 2 skinks long time ago and I fed it ants and it look like it was squishing the ant so yeah so I fought of puting some lettuce but I still need some other food I heard you can feed it thing that are smaller than a skink head
We have just moved house and I moved a box and found a poor garden skink with his skull squashed. I thought it was dead and the kids and I were digging a hole to bury it when it took a laboured breathe. I put it in a plastic box thinking it wouldn't survive but 2 days later it is running around. It has lost an eye and there is a lot of damage to the ear drum but it seems to be on the mend. I can't believe how much it has bounced back!
I haven't seen it eat yet but I will try some of the food that has been suggested.
They eat smaller lizards,meal-worms,slugs and much more. But my lizard is a dragon so mine eats snakes, birds,Burundai, grass and drinks beer, coke, water, lemonade. Hope it helps people who have dragons.
