Yes, they certainly do, although they do not have an actual rattle like a Rattlesnake has. Nearly all snakes in North America, with the exception of the Water and Garter Snakes, will vibrate or shake their tails if they feel threatened or upset, and against a surface like dry leaves or grass or paper, that tail can produce a sound that is similar, though nowhere as loud, as the sound produced by the actual rattle(which is just dried skin segments)of a real Rattlesnake. Many of my Black Rat Snakes will do this if I approach them while they're eating, since they think I'm going to steal their mouse or rat, even though I just gave it to them, and they're used to seeing me. On newspaper that I line their cages with, it is actually quite loud.
