What Do Koala Bears Eat?

The main food source of the Koala Bear are the leaves of the eucylyptis tree.

Koala bears eat eucalyptus leaves. They mostly eat leaves . They also eat fruit shrubs and bambu. That is all the stuff they eat mostly get what from leaves.

Koala bears look like soft furry teddy bears. They have soft grey fur and a large furless black nose, tiny ears and no tails. Koala bears also have five toes, but unlike a humans feet, two of the toes are separate from the other three. Koala bears are vegetarians and eat at least 2.5 lbs of eucalyptus leaves each day. A meal of these leaves give the koala all the food and water it needs to survive.
The koala bear used to be a food source for Native American's, then when the Europeans went to Australia, they would shoot koala bears for their soft fur.
There are only 2,000 to 8,000 left in the wild today. Thankfully koala's are now a protected species in Australia where they mostly live and anyone caught harming one is severly punished.
In the wild koala's can live for 12 - 14 years. In captivity they can live longer to about 20 years.
