Why Zoos Should Not Be Banned?

We believe that zoos should not be banned for many reasons.  First, if we ban zoos, we can't see and learn about the wonderful animals of the world.  Also, zoos provide a wonderful, cheap place for children to learn about animals from all over the world.  For example, it is too expensive for people to travel the world to see these exotic animals.  Another reason is that zoos help endangered animals from extinction.  For example, the zoos can raise an endangered wild bear and then release them to the wild.  Lastly, zoos can provide medicine and food for animals that would otherwise die out due to an ever-shrinking world.

My Opinion On Why Zoos Should NOT Be Banned:

They are educational for children (to see their habitats and behavior).
Entertaining - Days out - Visits.
Their Safety (away from hunters)
They get treat properly with the correct food and habitat.
They wont become extinct because they can keep reproducing.
People realise how remarkable they are and help saving them.
If an animal has an illness they can get treat by a vet in a zoo, not in the wild.

Etc...

As an education facility to bring wild animals not normally seen by most
people to a central secured park for everyone to enjoy.

Many zoos run breeding programmes to increase numbers of endangered
animals, not only in captiviy put also in the wild, as many zoos run
release programmes to introduce species back into the wild.

Some animals find it hard to breed and therefore zoos use IVF treatment with endangered animals.

Zoos allow us to see animals we would never otherwise see because we don't have the money for world travel, certain animals are too reclusive to chance upon, certain animals are too dangerous to get anywhere near in the wild, etc.

Animals we see, we are more likely to appreciate and want to help. Many zoos educate visitors on the animals as well as how they can help conservation efforts. Many zoos also have, or contribute to, programs for helping these animals, so part of the money you pay to get in (admission) goes to help animal conservation efforts.

Some animals are very close to extinction and animal experts may be able to help keep these species alive by helping them with their breeding.

Why can't some people get that zoos are good because they help make nearly extinct animals safer? And just because one zoo is bad doesn't mean the rest are!

Zoos should not be banned for the simple reason that more animals would be extinct be now, but with the help of Zoos animals are breeding which will lead to animals coming down from critical.

3. It provides education.
4. It can generate income to the city where it is located.
5. It may become  a tourist attraction.

They are a great place for people to gain a first hand appreciation for the divine beauty of nature. With that appreciation people will be more inclined to care for our beautiful Earth. Also zoos can provide medicine and food to animals that would die because they were in the wild and that would bring that species on step close to extinction x

I think zoos shouldn't be ban because it is cheaper to go there and the zooskeeper provides good food for the animals. The fee people pay for entry to go in the zoo, are mostly used to provide food and medicial attention for the animals. And they will help them to breed so the animals increse in population and don't become extinct. Thank you. I know it's boring. And goodnight. Laters bro! By Natalie Prapasiri Nitchin.

Zoos should NOT be banned because zoos are a good place to house endangered species, help them breed, and help move toward their reintroduction back into their natural habitat.

I like zoos but I feel sorry for the animals...! :) x x But Zoos are also really helpful as they prevent animals from being endangered and educate the further generation about the animals...

Yeah only 5 reasons. I have over 10 why they shouldn't.
Animals are living things just like humans. How would you feel if you were locked up in a cage waiting for your next meal. Wouldn't you feel depressed?
Animals should be free after all we are all mammals and why do we humans get to be more free than them?
I think it is cruel to have animals in a zoo. They were doing alright in the wild before we came along and took them out of it for money and public viewing. Every animal in the zoo isn't going extinct. If they want to put them in the zoo and tourture them take the endangered ones.
Zoo's AREN'T educational because they aren't seeing the traits of a wild animal but the traits of a restless animal.
Reasons against:
1. They don't live as long.
2. They aren't educational.
3. They don't have enough room as they would in the wild.
4. You think animals are cared for well they only look how the animal is doing if it's pregnant or when it's feeding time.
5. Gorilla's for instance eat their own fecies from being restless and dolphins swim 50 miles in the ocean equivalent to 500 laps around their pool.
6. They react aggressively which is why zoo keepers are attacked.
7. Zoo's don't accept animals that won't attract a crowd. (Meaning if they won't get money from the animal they don't take it.)
8. They get bored.
9. If an animal escapes and hurts someone, they kill the animal even though the animal shouldn't have been there in the first place.
10. Elephants don't have nearly enough room in zoo's and pace back and forth which can cause vommiting.
11. Animals should be free, since it's a free country. :)
12. You think research is a good thing about the animal? Maybe writing things down, but most of them go through a lot of treatment and pain.
13. The animals are only there for our entertainment.
I know I can't stop it. Either can anyone else. But it doesn't make it right. All the billions of animals that are in zoo's now wouldn't survive in the wild since they've been in captivity for so long. Would you like to be locked up in a cage and have people stare at you? Think again.

Because animals are nature they belong here, and if we close down zoos we wont be able to see any of the animals. We can,t go to the jungle to and see animals can't we.there are more children's who wants to see the animals but they can't cause the zoos are all closed down.
Zoos are the only place that we can see the animals.
Pleases don't close the zoos down. Even I am saying that I LOVE the zoos I LOVE the animals.THANK YOU!

Because if children want to do research on a certain type of animal
they can't go into the jungle and research they would go to a zoo

I think zoos should not be banned as they prove to be a vital place for education, there also endagered species,

I agree it is not fair that they are kept inside zoos and not let allowed in the wild but if they were always in the wild we would never get to see them.

I don't think banning zoos is good idea. Zoos help animal from extinction ( breed them and then they're mature, release them into wildlife) and good for education ( everybody can see animal's life and habitat).

Zoo's should be banned because animals cannot react in there natural way.

Animals don't get looked after well in zoos.

They do not live in Thier natural habitat

some zoos have awful conditions which will harm the animal life even worser.

Animals should stay in their habitats because they wernt born to be on display to people or entertainment, there are meant to be out in the wild .
