I just had sprinkler on the garden and noticed a mass exodus of earthworms into the pool.
Very odd. Even when I turned the sprinkler off the worms kept coming.
All I can assume is they got waterlogged where they were and were looking for somewhere dry.
Ironic that they headed for the pool I guess. I was watching one and saw it move slowly across the pebble concrete then it got to the smooth edge of the pool and accelerated right in.
I don't know how worms survive the wet season (I'm in north Queensland) with weeks and weeks of rain and it's odd that I haven't seen this before.
I did scoop as many as I could into a bucket to put in a dry part of the garden. I had to wear gloves as I find them a little slimy to touch!!!
