The size of an adults hand, and they can be found in all sorts of places, behind doors, in cars, in sleeping bags, youth hostels, in the washing basket. Despite their name, they are quite placid, but will give a nasty bite if you put your hand on them by accident, or stand on them. They lay 200 eggs at a time and can be very protective.
They are a browny, grey colour and have hairy legs.

A bite from them while not poisonous, can be sore and should be treated with an icepack.
