Way to many. If you see it or know of it happining please call your local animal shelter, animal control or the police department this way the animal can get help and a safe place to stay. Either in shelters or in foster homes. The police can decide wether or not to arrest the person or just charge them with accounts of animal cruelity make other people aware of it to.

Did you know animal control doesn't save the animals they just let them stay there, and if there is more than one dog in there and one fights and kills the other they just put the dead one away????

Thanks. I already do this.

60-100 Million are killed a year from animal testing, 100 Million-1 billion die every year from abuse, and 6-8 million die from not being picked from an animal shelter. Sad, huh? Yeah, I thought so. 166 Million-1 Billion 108 Million animals die a year. And THAT is just in America. Later.

There are 91,980 animals abused each year.... It's so sad when you see them like that. If I could make just 1 law for the world I would say you could not show any voilence and abuse animals. You can't hurt even just 1 animal. It makes my heart tear up when I see an abused animal.

Far too many. Some people do not even give the animal a second thought. I have seen for myself and also on the animal planet, that some people just do not care. When I was younger I had birds that I bred and have seen what happens when a pet is bought for a present for Christmas  that when the animal comes it seems to be loved but when it grows it is forgotten. I made a point that I would never sell any of my animals at Christmas as it gets neglected later. Whether it is a bird, dog, cat or any other animal a lot of them are forgotten when the novelty wears off. Then you get animals bought for children and some parents leave it to the kids to look after and never check themselves to see if that animal is alright. Then again you get the Adults that get animals and they feed and look after themselves and never give the animal another thought, some are tied up 24/7 or the people who move but never bother to take the animal with them and they are left abandoned and if the property is not checked the animal is left starve to death. Then you have chimps, bears, horses and so many others that are ill treated. I have 2 dogs as well as 2 cats. 1 dog I got from a shelter and the other from a lady who had 5 dogs that were being starved. That one I should have called her velcro as she is beside me all the the time. They are both faithful and loyal and have shown thier appreciation a thousand times over. They are actually a better pet than one bought from a breeder as they had it hard before I got them so they knew the hard life at one time. And I love them too.

Over millions, but it is not fair because the animals never did anything to that person that abused them. Just because they can get away with it dosen't mean they can do it and then abandon their animal. People like that make me so angry that I want to beat them up

Too many, people want to make themselves look more powerful by hitting and killing lower life form. They are really people who really can't stand up for themselves and pick on things who are smaller than themselves

Way too many!!!  I no that my opinion doesn't mean much but way too many animals are being abuse, neglected and thrown out on the streets just because of the simple fact that the owner just doesn't feel like taking care of them,  the animal makes one mistake,  or tears up something expensive....  I believe that this is wrong  I mean come on now people get with it  animals are much like humans,  so if your baby or child did the same thing that these animals were doing then I bet loads of people would stop and think before they abuse another animal!!!  As for the number of animals being abused  all I know is that were never going to get an exact number because to many people just abuse them and don't do anything about it.

I like this answer because i hate abuse AND its completely true i mean if your child say broke an ornament that was EXPENSIVE yes you would scold him/her but you wouldn't abuse him or her animals have feelings and they don't understand things like expensiveness or quality stone or ANYTHING like that yes you can scold them but the only physical thing you should do it a stern tap on the nose to show them it is wrong

A lot, too many, but who's going to save them? People like you could save them, everyone could, donating money to charities, sponsoring animals in places like dogstrust and just not abusing the animals yourself.

It's a rhetorical or "trick" question, since "abuse" depends on the opinion of the person.  To many people, especially those involved in the so-called "Animal Rights" movement, ANYTHING that involves human-animal contact is animal abuse.  These people consider merely keeping pets or breeding and selling animals as pets to be abuse, akin to keeping human slaves.  To many people, allowing animals to breed is abusive, as is the use of animals as food, clothing, etc.

The Humane Society of the United States is a radical Animal Rights organization that is seeking to end ALL animal use by humans, and that includes the practice of keeping and breeding animals as pets.  They do NOT operate ANY animal shelters or rescues at all.  They do not adopt out homeless animals.  They DO, in fact, believe that all domesticated cats and dogs should be spayed or neutered by the young age of four months, so that no more cats or dogs can ever be born, and these animals will eventually become extinct.  They use virtually all of the four million dollars per year that they take in through donations to pay staff salaries, buy advertising spots(like the ones on tv with the sad-eyed animals that make you think that HSUS "rescued" them), and hire lobbyists to push for laws that make it harder and harder to anyone to own any type of animal, for any reason.  Right now, they are pushing for two Federal bills that will ban large snakes, like pythons and boas, and require that the estimated 38 MILLION pet snakes in the US be taken from their owners and killed...this is what the HSUS is all about, not protecting animals from abuse.  HSUS advocates destroying every dog that is seized in raids on "dog-fighting" operations, and indeed, they do just that, even though in many cases the owners are later found innocent of all charges of dog-fighting or animal abuse.  It's too late to save those dogs, though; HSUS kills even little newborn puppies, claiming that they are "vicious" and "dangerous".  IF you really do love animals, and want to be able to continue to live with them, DO NOT DONATE to the HSUS!  You can find out more here: www.animalscam.com and be sure to check out this: bluedogstate.blogspot.com and THESE quotes from Wayne Pacelle, Senior VP and now CEO of the HSUS: "We have no ethical obligation to preserve the different breeds of livestock produced through selective breeding. . One generation and out. We have no problem with the extinction of domestic animals. They are creations of human selective breeding." Wayne Pacelle, Senior VP of Humane Society of the US, formerly of Friends of Animals and Fund for Animals, Animal People, May, 1993
When asked if he envisioned a future without pets, “If I had my personal view, perhaps that might take hold. In fact, I don’t want to see another dog or cat born.” Wayne Pacelle quoted in Bloodties: Nature, Culture and the Hunt by Ted Kerasote, 1993, p. 266., or THIS one from John Goodwin, HSUS Field Operations Director, a convicted felony arsonist and member of the domestic terrorist organization, ALF(Animal Liberation Front): "My goal is the abolition of all animal agriculture." JP Goodwin, employed at the Humane Society of the US, formerly at Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade, as quoted on AR-Views, an animal rights Internet discussion group in 1996.

There are million of animals abused each day. If you abuse animals you might as well rob a bank instead. Ab useing animals is like abusing your own children and they have feelings so they need be treated like if they were the most loved thing in the world.
