Well, you have to act quickly. Examine his/ her head to see if there may be more ticks or nits there. Take a narrow-toothed comb and pull it through the hair, covering each and every strands. That will help take them out. However, the nits are a  bigger challenge since they wont come out in the comb and you'll have to pull them out of each hair individually, with your fingers. If you don't they'll soon turn into ticks and multiply till the problem is out of hand. Also get hold of an anti-lice lotion which are available in the market and apply that for half an hour and then wash the hair. Hopefully that will take care of that. But you need to check the child's hair everyday to make sure they've been totally wiped out. Your child must have a classmate or friend that they got them from so you'll also need to find out who it is and send a message to the teacher to instruct their parents to do something about it. Good luck!

The other poster is thinking of lice not ticks just be sure to check for anymore and be sure to use tweezers to remove any ticks you find - be sure head is removed as it sometimes detaches and remains causing an infection....watch for any rash or infection and keep area clean...see doc if anything doesn't seem like normal healing......

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GET ON ANTIBIOTICS RIGHT AWAY!!! Get to the pediatrician!!  At the very least 21 days of doxycycline!!! Keep the tick and send it to IGENEX lab in Palo Alto. They will test the tick for Lyme Disease and other infections. PLEASE IF YOU HAVE KIDS GET THE TICK TESTED!!! Lyme Disease may be a possible cause of autism. Not to mention LYME DISEASE itself!! Your life may never be the same again if you get it.

You just don't know how precious your health or your family's health is until it's much too late. Please watch the film "under our skin".
