Ticks give me the creeps, I hate those blood sucking bugs. I like lightening bugs, they're pretty cool.

AH, I will always remember the first time in my life I ever saw a lightning bug...
I was 66 years old and it was a Sunday Fathers' Day of 2011. I was out walking in Des Moines, and went past a yard just at dusk and there they were! I loved them..."SO" much...

The lightning bugs just started to fly around last night. My dog goes nuts trying to catch them.

I like Monarch butterflies the best but I can't stand big ants ! I still have bite scars on me from laying hidden in the jungle and being bitten. Nasty buggers!

Me! Me! Me!! I'm the coolest!!

The one and only bug that will make me run from a room, a potato bug. They are an abomination.

I liked dragonflies even before I knew they were fairies in disguise, and that if you look from the corner of your eye you can sometimes see the fairy just as pulls on its dragonfly persona...

I think the most annoying insecst are those darn fruit flies (or gnats). For me, the only cool bug is one that's dead!!!

Umm...What did you do with the tick? I lived somewhere that had a Lyme Disease problem, as well as other tick borne illnesses. We were told to put any ticks we pulled off in a Ziploc bag with a paper towel soaked in alcohol. That way if you got sick within the next month you could take the tick into the doctor's office and they can check for any illness that could be carried by that type tick.

Back to your question, I think the most annoying insect is the mosquito. I live next to a protected wetland, aka swamp, so you can imagine how bad they can get.

As for the coolest, the inchworm. It is the larvae state of moths.

It hadn't bitten in. I felt it crawling on my neck, and got it before he turned me into a buffet! Ewwwww! I'd heard that about ticks too.
Back to the question, :) I can't stand mosquitos! I think the wetlands are pretty with lots of wildlife, but the bugs and humidity are murder!
Inch worms are cute! I like the song too. 🐛

Coolest insect = dragonfly, although I also love the hummingbird moth, I found a wonderful photo of it.

And in Iowa, there was an epidemic of bedbugs...annoying is not even the word, I put them in somewhat the same category as bubonic plague...

What a great picture!! I agree. Dragonflies are fantastic! (Our friend included. :)
Storytime!
I was sitting on the deck, and a HUGE swarm of dragonflies came between me and the trees. The sound of their wings was indescribable. They were hunting the mosquitos I was attracting. Not one dragonfly bumped into me, and not one mosquito broke their barrier. It was amazing to see!

It was beautiful, Virginia. :)
Mr. Happy was watching from the window. He could hear and see it all. He just kept saying, "Wow! I've never seen so many!"
